Edmund Kean
Edmund Kean, alsi cognoscite como Kean le Vetule (Kean the Elder in anglese, pro distinguer le de su filio Charles),[1] (Londres, 4 de novembre de 1787 – Richmond upon Thames, 15 de maio de 1833) era un actor anglese, reputate como le major de su tempore,[2][3][4] specialmente in tragedias.[1][5] Ille era un actor ab le 15 annos[2] e deveniva famose subito in 1814, al estate de 26 annos, per su representation como Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, de William Shakespeare.[2][5] Ille stellava in tours theatral in le Statos Unite[6] in 1820 e de nove in 1825.[7]

Ille comenciava su carriera como actor quando le stylo de representation predominante, artificial e declamatori, era exemplificate per le rival de Kean, John Philip Kemble. Kean era un pionero in un typo de representation emotionalmente expressive que reimplaciava le anterior stylo, dum Kean proprie reimplaciava Kemble como le principal actor anglese del epocha.[8]
Le poeta Samuel Taylor Coleridge diceva que vider le jocar "es como leger Shakespeare per fulgeres."[2][9]
