Peter Balakian (13 de junio 1951 in Teaneck, New Jersey, SUA) es un scriptor, poeta e historico armenie-statounitese, e un ganiator del Premio Pulitzer e le Premio Raphael Lemkin.

Peter Balakian ha nate in 1951 in un familia de origine armenie. Ille ha un doctorato in civilisation statounitese e occupa un professorato de Scientias Human al Universitate Colgate.

Su granoncle era le archiepiscopo Krikor Balakian.
