In 1926, le anno del historia in le prime film, illa viveva in le Citate de Nove York in un appartamento con su soror, Queenie Goldstein. Tina incontra Newt Scamander (un experto in animales magic) al principio del prime film, e durante le duo films illa e su soror ha aventuras con Scamander e su amico Jacob Kowalski (un muggle).
Illa appella se "Tina", e es appellate "Tina" per le altere personages alsi, ma in un scena del prime film un placard es visible con su photo e le nomine "Porpentina Goldstein." In le pagina "Super le Autor" (pagina numero vi) del libro original de 2001 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, un libro supponitemente scripte per le personage Newt Scamander, le phrase final dice re Scamander: "Nunc retirate, ille vive in Dorset con su sposa Porpentina".
Le nomine "Porpentina" simila le parola porpentine, un parola archaic in anglese que William Shakespeare usava pro significar "porcospino" (un animal que es appellate porcupine in anglese contemporari).
