Ille esseva le filio de un presbytero swabian. Ille studiava in Adelberg e depois del schola visitava le basse Konvikts in Maulbronn on Tübinger, ubi ille cognosceva Johann Valentin Andreae. Meiderlin esseva studente de Mathias Haffenreffer e in 1601 obteneva un diploma de magister. In 1605, ille inseniava in le convento de Tübingen. In 1607, ille assumeva le cathedra de Martin Crusius depois le morte de iste. In 1612 ille esseva diacono senior in Kirchheim unter Teck, e depois "Ephorus" del collegio de St. Anna in Augsburg. Ille remaneva in iste posto (con solo un interruption de 1630 to 1632), usque 1650.

In 1626 ille publicava sub le pseudonymo Rupertus Meldenius un obra titulate Paraenesis votiva per Pace Ecclesia ad Theologos Augustana Confessionis auctore Ruperto Meldenio Theo logo, in le qual ille scribeva pro le pace inter le varie divisiones theologic e pro le caritate (o amor christian) inter le credentes. In iste contexto ille formulava le phrase previemente mentionate, "in necessariis unitas in dubiis libertas, in omnibus caritas".
