Usator:Synthebot/archive/00015

Hello, I wonder why your bot doesn't use the most recent version of an article, and thereby produces unnecessary, destructive reverts, just like it happend here [1]. This one could be repared easily, but I would recommend to halt Synthebot until this problem is resolved. -- de:790 12:17, 12 augusto 2007 (UTC)

Hello 790. Thank you for posting your message. I was looking at the page you referred. When editing this page the software says:
"WARNING: This page is 152 kilobytes long; some browsers may have problems editing pages approaching or longer than 32kb. Please consider breaking the page into smaller sections."
The bot does not (and cannot) take older versions. Then, I assume that what you experienced was an uncommon collateral effect done by the software MediaWiki. For efficiency reasons, it must have given an older cached version to concurrent editors instead of the last version. For short times (around ten minutes) the concurrence problem is quite common, but it is not for longer times.
If this behavior happens again with a small page, I will stop the bot until the situation is clarified.
Thank you again. Regards, --Julian (disc.) 16:49, 12 augusto 2007 (UTC)
