Nona Balakian
Nona Balakian (Constantinopole, 4 de septembre 1918 - New York City, 5 de april 1991) era un critico literari e un editor al New York Times Sunday Book Review ("Revista de Libros del New York Times").[1] Illa serviva in le committee del Premio Pulitzer e era un membro del consilio del Authors Guild e del Pen Club, e etiam un fundator del National Book Critics Circle, cuje Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing es appellate in su honor.[2]

Illa e su soror, Anna Balakian, un critica literari e professor a New York University qui moriva in 1997, era membros de un circulo literari que includeva alsi le dramaturgo William Saroyan e le diarista Anaïs Nin.[3] Le sorores Balakian era le granneptas del archiepiscopo e supervivitor del Genocidio Armenie Grigoris Balakian e le amitas del poeta e ganiator del Premio Pulitzer Peter Balakian.[4]
